What is OnTrent?

Working together to conserve and enjoy the River Trent corridor

This is a long-term initiative intended to benefit local people and the natural and cultural heritage in the parishes along the River Trent. It draws together a wide range of organisations from the public, private and voluntary sectors, all of which have strong interests in the river’s future. The initiative seeks to reverse the continuing decline in biodiversity by securing a better balance between wildlife and agriculture, commercial activity and development. The prime focus is on creating and managing wetlands where appropriate opportunities arise, and on conserving and enhancing the landscape of the river and its environs.
